Chicago :)

During the Good Friday holiday, my roommate, Navina and I went to Chicago for 4 days 3 nights vacation.
(Shhh... Actually we skipped 1 day class :P)

On April 17, we took 7.35am Amtrak train from Flint to Chicago. (ps : Thx to Navina's bf for waking up at 5am just to send us to Flint Train Station). We took around 5 hours to Chicago. OMG. It's really a long journey and my ass are freaking bad and pain sitting for 5 hours without moving.

Photo that we took in train. (she is my roommate, Navina)

Around 11.45am (Chicago's time) we reached Chicago's Union Station. :)
We are so tired as we just slept for 4 hours only. :'(

This is the Chicago's Union Station :)

We stay in one of the American's house who rent their house or room just for the traveler. (more information please search airbnb)
We stay in this house. Don't be shock. We are just staying at the first floor.
The owner allows us to use his kitchen and everything. So, it is super convenient and nice.

We are super hungry when we got here. After settled everything in our "new home", we walked around the housing area to search for food.
Finally, we found a restaurant selling Ukrainian's food and the food is super yummy.

I forgot the name of this dish. But, it is beef with mash potato. It really taste nice!

After our lunch, we take public bus to the city. Public transport is very convenient in Chicago. If you plan to travel to Chicago, you can choose not to drive, cause the public transport can send you to the destination. Compared to Los Angeles, the transportation in Chicago is more convenient.

Here we are, Downtown of the Chicago. :) Chicago is full of tall buildings.

Day 1 -  We plan to visit John Hancock Center, which also known as 360 Chicago. This is the place where we can observe the whole Chicago City in 360 Degree. The entrance fee is $28. This is a MUST GO place in Chicago as the scenery is really very nice.

Photos of the city that I took while in the 360 Chicago. The scenery took my breathe away.

Although Chicago is a city, but it also located at the lakeside.
This Michigan Lake was so huge that we can't even see the end of the lake.

We never failed to take a selfie before we leave.
(please forget about my panda eyes. cz I just slept 4 hours only )

Next station will be the cheesecake factory. OMG!! Cheesecake is one of my favorite cake! We plan to have cheesecake as our tea time.

Here we are, Cheesecake Factory.
The whole design of the restaurant is like a cheese. <3 p="">
We ordered this milkshakes and we are so shock as we didn't expect it came out to be so big.

Key Lime Cheesecake

30th Anniversary Chocolate Cheesecake

We are so excited to have cheesecake in US as we didn't eat cheesecake for 3 months. ==
However, I don't recommend Key Lime Cheesecake as it is very sour. Navina and I can't even take it and we just eat half of it.

Around 6pm we went back to our room and rest. At first, we planed to take a nap and woke up at 9pm to have our dinner.
However, we are too tired that we slept for the whole night until the next morning. LOL

Day 2
We can't start our journey without a proper breakfast. So, before we went to the city, we had our breakfast at one of the coffee shop.

Scones with a cup of mocha.
Aww.. it boost up my mood ♥

Mocha ♥

Day 2 plans are Lincoln Park Zoo, Millennium Park and SkyDeck
Let's start our journey by taking the bus again. :D
Selfie again while waiting for the bus. :)
The weather is super cold although it is a sunny day. :(

Here is the Lincoln Park Zoo. The entrance is free. So, you can pay a visit anytime you want. There are a lot of animals in the zoo.

I just uploaded some of the animal photos only. HAHA. It's really a great place to visit especially with kids.
After visiting the zoo, we walked around the Lincoln Park. The scenery is super nice.

It is a sunny day, but I still need to wear a coat :(

Next destination is the Millennium Park. The bean, which is the famous architecture, is located in this park.

Cloud Gate, also known as The Bean.
This bean is so famous as it can reflect the whole city.
Can you see the reflection of the city?

Crown Fountain, which located in Millennium Park too.
This fountain is famous as there is a face reflected on the fountain.

Chicago is full of artistic structure. The following photos show the statues in Grant Park.

Art Museum.

We came all the way to see Buttingham fountain, but ended up no water. =.=
So disappointed.

We didn't forget to grab some popcorn from Garrett popcorn shop. We tried the Chicago mix, which consist of Cheese popcorn and caramel popcorn.

At 6pm we took bus to Willis Tower, which the SkyDeck was located. SkyDeck is very popular as it is 103 floor and we can see the city through the transparent floor.

We waited almost 1 hour for our turn to the skydeck.

SEEE!!!! The city is just below my butt!!
HAHAHA

Night scene of Chicago.

At night, we take a To-Go order as our dinner from one of the famous sushi restaurant near our house.
AWWW Sushi... ♥ I miss you so much

Aged Toufu with 5 rolls of sushi :D

Day 3
Today we are going to outlet store in Chicago.
WEEEEEEeeEEE
OOTD : D

I didn't take photo in the outlet as I am too busy shopping around there. :P Paiseh. However it is a very good place to shop. ^^

Here's my catches from today ^^
I am so satisfied and happy

Next, we will be heading to city again ^^
One special thing about Chicago is, there is an underground shop. ^^
It's cool

My first try of the frozen yogurt ^^

YEAHHH Chicago!!! ^^

It's dinner time. We went to a popular pizza restaurant to kill our hunger. Giordano, which is super famous and a lot of poeple. We waited one and a half hour just to get our table.

We ordered Lasagna and it taste really good! ♥

This is the deep crust pizza. It is very special as its crust is so thick
Yum yum :9

After our dinner, we went to the navy pier. The night scene of the navy pier is super nice. However, it is too cold that my fingers are almost frozen. =.=

Navy pier

Let's try the flying swing! ^^

Ready to fly!!!
It's is fun, but the wind is so cold and strong. ==
My hairband almost fly off ==

 YAY!!!
That's all for Day 3. :)

Day 4 - Chinatown
Well, we woke up very early and take train to the Chinatown just to eat the Dim Sum.
Selfie while waiting for train ^^

Here we are, Chinatown. We tried the Dim Sum from Cai restaurant ^^.
Most of the people in Chinatown speak Cantonese. HAHA. So, we didn't face any problem communicate with them
This is the restaurant where we had our Dim Sum.
^^

Aww... Long time didn't drink Chinese Tea :)

Dim Sum that we ordered ^^

The Dim Sum here is very nice with reasonable price. One plate of Dim Sum is around $3.00 to $4.00
Yum Yum

We walked and shopped around the Chinatown to buy some Asians food.

I was so shock that they even sell seafood here.
And we managed to buy peanuts and lotus root. ^^
HEHE I plan to make a lotus root soup when I go back to Michigan.
:p

Before we leave Chinatown, we went to one of the famous Hong Kong restaurant to drink its bubble tea.
^^
I miss bubble tea so much.

After visiting Chinatown, we went back to our room to pack our stuff. Haiz. Time to go back home. T.T

Photo taken when waiting for the train to come.

Anyways, Chicago is a very nice place to travel. I love the structure and building here. The breathtaking city view make me reluctant to leave Chicago. If I have time and money, I definitely will pay a visit to Chicago again.  There are so much food that I haven't try yet..
Aww..

Now I need to back to my University Life that full of assignments and homework again :(
